This aim of this site is to provide up-to-date information on the vascular plants of Dzanga-Sangha in the Central African Republic. This website is based on the information provided in this publication:
Harris D.J. (2002). The vascular plants of the Dzanga-Sangha Reserve, Central African Republic.pp. 274. Meise, National Botanic Garden (Belgium).
A PDF is available here. If you would like to purchase a copy of this book please send an email to sales@br.fgov.be
The advantage of this website over the published checklist is that information is more up-to-date. There are three main areas that are updated from the 2002 checklist. 1. At the family level APG families are used. 2. At the species level some species have been added and others removed. 3. At thespecimen level some identifications have been updated.
This website was designed by Robyn Drinkwater as a part of her Masters project. The aim of her project was to look at ways of presenting botanical inventory data online. This website was one of several ways that she presented data from a botanical inventory.
Here is a new website on Trees from northern Congo: http://congotrees.rbge.org.uk/
